Todd Harrell, the bassist for 3 Doors Down, has been charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication. Reuters reports that the bassist was driving on I-40 in Nashville, Tennessee late on Friday when he clipped a pickup truck.
The truck lost control and overturned down an embankment. The wreck killed the driver of the pickup truck, Paul Howard Shoulders Jr..
According to police, Harrell appeared to be intoxicated. A police statement says, "He acknowledged consuming hard cider and taking prescription Lortab and Xanax."
3 Doors Down released this statement:
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time."
The band was scheduled to perform at Carolina Rebellion on Sunday, May 5th. But, they have decided to cancel all of their shows in the United States in April and May. They will resume their tour on May 31 in Moscow and will return to the United States in July.
