The March death of GWAR frontman David Brockie is being ruled accidental - the result of heroin overdose.
The Virginia State Medical Examiner's Office says the 50-year-old rocker died of "acute heroin toxicity."
Brockie, known by his stage name Oderus Urungus, was found dead in his home in Richmond, Virginia on March 23rd. A founding member of the costumed heavy-metal group, Brockie performed on 13 of the band's albums over their 30 years of existence.
GWAR is known for their theatrical and sometimes graphic shows that includes "meat masks" and monsters.
The band also lost member Cory Smoot, who portrayed the character Flattus Maximus, in 2011. His death was attributed to a pre-existing heart condition.
